The Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) on New Business Creation (NBC) for the Unemployed Youths was conducted from 09th to 23rd April, 2025 by the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship (DoEE), Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) in collaboration with dzongkhag administration of Trashiyangtse.
There were 15 contestants in total, including 8 men and 7 women. Participants include a diverse collection of young people without jobs, housewives, and businessman and women.
During 2 weeks program, participants were taught how to generate sustainable business ideas, matching projects with people, develop a detail business plan that includes a marketing plan, financial plan and organizational plan. During the final day,participants were given an opportunity to pitch their business ideas in front of a panel of judges.
The closing ceremony was graced by Dasho Dzongdag, Dasho Dzongrab, of Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag, Regional Director from the Regional office of Industry commerce and employment, Mongar and sector head and officer from both Dzongkhag and regional office of Industry commerce and employment along with the two facilitators.
The following top 2 business ideas were given a cash prize of Nu.50,000 each during the closing ceremony out of a total of 4 business ideas.
