The eighth day of the second month of the Bhutanese calendar is when the three-day Gomphu kora Tshechu officially begins each year. 
Thousands of people including 600 visitors from Arunachal Pradesh gathered to witness the annual Tshechu. According to people from Tawang, they have been visiting Gomphu Kora to witness the festival and get blessings for years.
People of all walks of life presented themselves in their best attires and congregated at the sacred place.
During the third day of the Tshechu, Guru Tshengye Thongdrel and sacred relics were also displayed to the public.
