Yangtse Gewog
Yangtse gewog falls under the sub-alpine zone .There is mixed Conifer forest occupy the largest portion and the dominant species are spruce, Hemlock and lark. The juniper and rhodhodendron are also found in this zone.Summers are usually warm and cool .There is lots of rain fall in the summer and in winter, it is quite dry and windy.
Almost all the Varieties of crops are grown in the gewog, but the importance is given to paddy,chilli (Aurka bangla) and potatoes .Various of vegetables and fruits are also grown and the surplus are sold in the market. People in Yangtse gewog rear breed improved breed like Jersey ,Mithun cross, hybrids of poultry , and pigs. The Dzongkhag veterinary hospital fall in this gewog which facilitates easy service delivery and marketing of their produce. Yangtse gewog is famous known for skill of woodturning (Dapa) and paper making (Dheysho).
Yangtse gewog is rich with several culture and religious landmarks, including monasteries , lhakhangs (temples)and chortens (stupa), which have played significant roles in the spiritual and social life of the community .
People of this place speaks Yangtsep, (Zala kha),Tshangla, (Sharchopa), and Chocha Ngacha .
Yangtse gewog fairly good access to infrastructure and services . There is one RNR center , five ECCD center, three primary school one NEF center and five farmer’s cooperative groups . Almost all the Chiwogs are connected by farm road and mobile network and have access to clean drinking water.
