The Urka Pickle Processing Plant was inaugurated today at Yangtse Throm by Dasho Dzongdag. A total of Nu. 6 million was funded by the office of Commercial Agriculture and Resilient Livelihoods Enhancement Programme (CARLEP) in collaboration with Dzongkhag Agriculture Sector to develop this Plant. This will benefit a 56 households of Yangtse and Boomdeling Gewogs.

Note: Urka also known as Urka Bangala is a famous chili grown in Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag, it is neither too hot or too sweet and resembles that of capsicum in appearance.
