Trashiyangtse, June 24, 2025 — A total of 142 gender-friendly mini tillers were officially handed over to farmers from seven gewogs under Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag. The distribution ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Dasho Dzongdag, marking a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and reducing labor-intensive practices in the region.

The mini tillers were distributed among the 7 gewogs as follows:

2.      Yallang – 25 Nos

3.      Ramjar – 25 Nos

4.      Yangtse – 17 Nos

5.      Boomdeling – Nos

6.      Jamkhar – 10 Nos

This initiative was made possible through the support of the Commercial Agriculture and Resilient Livelihoods Enhancement Programme (CARLEP/IFAD) under a 50:50 cost-sharing mechanism with the beneficiaries.

The program not only supports farm mechanization but also plays a crucial role in promoting gender-inclusive agricultural practices, improving rural livelihoods, and contributing towards the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock’s vision of a self-reliant and sustainable agricultural sector.

The distributed mini tillers are expected to ease the burden of manual labor, boost productivity, and strengthen the resilience of farming communities across the dzongkhag.
