  from Trashigang Dzong\, the administrative center of Bhutan’s most popu
 lous district. The name "Gomphu Kora" is rich in meaning—Gomphu translat
 es to “meditation cave\,” while Kora refers to the act of circumambula
 tion\, a key ritual at this sacred location.\nAt the heart of Gomphu Kora 
 lies a cave formed in a rocky cliffside\, which holds deep spiritual signi
 ficance. A temple built beside this natural feature serves as a place of w
 orship and reflection. The site is best known for its annual circumambulat
 ion ritual\, which is central to a popular saying: “Circle Gomphu Kora t
 oday—tomorrow might be too late.” This phrase reflects the urgency and
  devotion of the faithful who make their journey here.\nEach year\, during
  a three-day religious festival\, Gomphu Kora transforms into a vibrant ga
 thering space. Devotees from across eastern Bhutan\, adorned in traditiona
 l dress\, come together to pray\, celebrate\, and honor their spiritual he
 ritage. The festival’s renown also crosses national borders\, drawing me
 mbers of the Dakpa community from Arunachal Pradesh in India. Despite the 
 challenging terrain\, these pilgrims undertake long journeys on foot with 
 their families to be part of the sacred event.
